The project developer seeks equity and debt partners for an ambitious educational infrastructure project in Ghana. The primary objective is to address three public universities' significant accommodation deficits. The project developer plans to construct and manage 7,550 new student accommodation units over 40 years.
With a total project cost of approximately USD 101,845,776, including financing and development expenses, the project encompasses various elements such as land acquisition, building construction and furnishing, motor vehicles, insurance bonds, pre-operating costs, sweat equity, financial advisory/legal fees.
The demand for student accommodation in Ghana far exceeds the available facilities, resulting in an average deficit of around 70%. This situation is exacerbated by the government's policy on free Senior High School (SHS) education, leading to a higher intake of students into tertiary institutions. It is anticipated that by 2024, the accommodation situation in Ghana's universities will become critical, necessitating the creation of additional spaces.
